Project Description
This project aims to close data gaps for emergency assistance and enable open access to data and analytics tools to support evidence-based policymaking in conflict programming. The Complex risk analytics fund is a global partnership among the United Nations (UN) member States civil society organizations (CSOs) academia and technology partners dedicated to using data and analytics to better anticipate prevent and respond to complex risks. Project activities include: (1) investing in innovative data initiatives and supporting developing critical data sets; (2) supporting developing analytics tools for better crisis early warning anticipation prevention and response and strengthen stakeholder data literacy; (3) providing data literacy training; and (4) facilitating and promoting data sharing and increased access to data.
Expected Results
The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) increased the fund partners’ capacity to use data and analytics to inform evidence-based policymaking and guide operational planning and programming processes; (2) strengthened a well-governed data ecosystem for greater resilience. provided stronger support to people and planet and enabled better insights into complex risks in crisis-affected and fragile settings; and (3) increased stakeholders’ access to essential and comprehensive risk data as a common good including real-time high-resolution sustainable and interoperable data.
