Project Description
The project "My health my rights (Sante mwen dwa mwen - Mi salud mis derechos)" aims to achieve more equal exercise of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) for women adolescent girls and children especially those in vulnerable or marginalized situations. This project is implemented in partnership with Lawyers without Borders Canada. Project activities include: (1) providing material and technical support to mobile and decentralized health services; (2) training primary health care providers including community and outreach health care providers particularly in family planning and the prevention and management of gender-based violence; (3) raising awareness among women and adolescent girls regarding good sexual health practices; and (4) providing technical assistance to institutions and organizations in the planning implementation monitoring and evaluation of SRHR programs and policies. The project aims to reach more than 1 151 983 women and adolescent girls directly and 5 010 826 people indirectly.
Expected Results
The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) increased use by women and adolescent girls of quality sexual and reproductive health and rights services particularly with regard to neglected areas including gender-based violence; (2) improved behaviours and practices in terms of sexual and reproductive health and rights that support the autonomy of women and adolescent girls; and (3) strengthened promotion and more equal protection of reproductive health rights by governments justice actors and civil society organizations.
