Project Description

This project aims to reduce violence and contribute to inclusive and sustained peace by mediating facilitating and supporting dialogue among various conflict parties through the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD). It seeks to fill a gap in international conflict mediation by engaging with hard-to-reach actors on sensitive issues that traditional state diplomacy or that fall outside of United Nations-mandated mediation processes are not effectively addressed through.

Expected Results

The expected outcome of this project include: (1) increased prevention mitigation and inclusive resolution of armed conflict in areas where HD supports mediation and dialogue; (2) increased progress in understanding and mapping of conflict risks and entry points; (3) empowered women in mediation and peacebuilding; (4) established first contact new channels of communication or building trust between conflict actors; (5) increased inclusion of previously marginalized voices; (6) brokered peace and conflict management agreements violence reduction and humanitarian access mechanisms; and (7) incorporated of gender-responsive provisions in agreements or mechanisms supported by HD.
