Project Description

This project aims to enable stabilization efforts in liberated areas of Iraq by clearing explosive hazards and developing local capacity to do the same. Project activities include: (1) conducting surveys to identify explosive hazard sites; (2) clearing and disposing of explosive hazards; and (3) delivering specialized training to local explosive survey and clearance teams.

Expected Results

The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) decreased harm to Iraqi women men girls and boys from explosive hazards in liberated areas of Iraq; and (2) strengthened capacity of local Iraqi actors to clear Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and other explosive remnants of war in liberates areas of Iraq.
