Project Description
The National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans (NBSAP) Accelerator Partnership is a country-led initiative to support the development and implementation of ambitious NBSAP. Also it aims to collectively achieve the goals and targets of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework and ultimately the global vision of living in harmony with nature by 2050. Canada’s support to the Partnership aims to enhance institutional capabilities for implementing gender-responsive NBSAPs in 7 primary focus countries strengthening partnerships between ministries women's rights organizations research institutions and other key stakeholders and contributing to knowledge generation on the linkages between gender equality and biodiversity conservation.
Expected Results
The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) built technical and institutional capacity on gender equality for biodiversity to integrate gender-responsive approaches into biodiversity policies and practices; (2) increased participation and leadership of women through multi-stakeholder workshops and by co-creating country specific solutions for gender-responsive biodiversity actions; and (3) supported global learning and share knowledge between and beyond partner countries.
