Project Description
The project aims to increase the actions of members of the Organization of American States to prevent and combat discrimination and gender-based violence and to promote the reproductive rights of women and girls. The project seeks to prevent violations of women’s rights and increase actions (precautionary measures petitions and cases system; follow-up recommendations and monitoring and promotional activities). It seeks to strengthen protection and defence of women and girls’ rights in collaboration with the Inter-American Court of Human Rights national State authorities and civil society organizations. Though this project is regional it also targets Bolivia Colombia Ecuador Guatemala Honduras Mexico and Peru.
Expected Results
The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) increased State actions to prevent women’s rights violations (discrimination gender-based violence and reproductive rights); and (2) increased actions by the Inter-American system and national judicial systems for the protection and defense of women’s rights using a gender and intersectional perspective.
