Project Description
This project aims to enhance the enjoyment of sexual and reproductive health rights for young girls and a life free from violence in an egalitarian and inclusive society. The projects directly targets women and girls living in rural areas of the Souss-Massa and Oriental regions. It addresses an essential need for the dignity of women and young girls and is fully aligned with Morocco's health development goals. Project activities include: (1) conducting communication actions in favor of reforming the legal framework related to gender equality. This includes initiatives supporting public strategies and policies like combating child marriage unintended pregnancies and gender inequalities; (2) adopting innovative approaches that will engage young people both girls and boys to promote positive masculinities and responsible parenting; and (3) strengthening the modalities of providing essential remote services in terms of sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR) and gender-based violence (GBV) to improve access.
Expected Results
The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) strengthening the effectiveness of gender equality in public policies related to SRHR and GBV; (2) increasing the equitable sustainable and inclusive use of services related to SRHR and GBV by girls and women; and (3) enhancing the supportive environment for gender equality and informed decision-making by young girls and women regarding SRHR.
