Project Description
This initiative aims to provide better protection for children living in vulnerable situations in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). This is done by involving the government communities families and the children themselves particularly girls and children of diverse gender identities. The project seeks to improve the protection and well-being of vulnerable children particularly girls in 3 DRC cities (Kinshasa Lubumbashi and Bunia). To achieve this result the initiative relies on 3 key areas: (1) strengthening the capacities of public institutions; (2) involving grassroots communities; and (3) improving inclusive and sustainable access to services for vulnerable children.
Expected Results
The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) increased effectiveness of government and local institutions in preventing violence and creating an environment that respects the rights of children especially girls; (2) increased participation of communities families and children themselves in defending and protecting the rights of children especially girls; and (3) improved inclusive and sustainable access to quality health services for vulnerable children especially girls.
