Project Description
This project aims to reduce unemployment enhance workforce skills and promote social inclusion by addressing high school dropouts in Dominica particularly affecting boys. The project intends to reintegrate 100 youth dropouts into the workforce through targeted vocational training and education in mathematics english office administration document preparation and management agro-science and technology medical administrative assistant hospitality and culinary arts and Adobe certified professional. The project intends support youth in earning their CXC high school diploma a certification recognized by the Ministry of Education and an important prerequisite for both employment and further education.
Expected Results
The expected outcomes of this project include: 1) increased workforce participation among young men and women in diverse sectors; 2) enhanced participation of women in fields dominated by men and non-traditional roles for men; 3) improved young men and women life skills and resilience against social and economic pressures; 4) improved outcomes for young mothers boys with behavioural challenges and marginalized subgroups through targeted interventions; and 5) Increased community awareness and reduced stigma around gender roles in education and employment.
