Project Description
This project aims to address the critical sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) needs of conflict-affected women girls and young people in Myanmar. It does so with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). The project supports women girls and youth to realize their SRHR and fulfill their potential by improving gender equality and preventing gender-based violence (GBV). Project activities include: (1) developing education programs for women girls and young people on SRHR GBV and mental health and psychosocial support services (MHPSS); (2) developing community awareness programs and training sessions on SRHR GBV and MHPSS; (3) facilitating training sessions and community meetings focusing on reinforcing positive coping strategies social norms and non-violent behavior; and (4) providing integrated quality SRHR GBV and MHPSS. This project aims to benefit 800 000 women girls and vulnerable people across Myanmar.
Expected Results
The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) improved community leaders’ responsiveness to the needs of women girls and young people regarding sexual reproductive health and rights (SRHR) the right to safety from violence and safety in emergencies; (2) improved access to a quality comprehensive rights-based package of integrated SRHR GBV and MHPSS services; and (3) enhanced community resilience and social cohesion towards realizing and localizing SRHR GBV and MHPSS outcomes.
