Total official support for sustainable development task force - enhancing global development

This project supports the International Total Official Support for Sustainable Development (TOSSD) task force and its secretariat. It aims to help developing countries achieve sustainable development goals focusing on gender equality. The task force shares important data to track progress and improve donation coordination. It seeks to fill in knowledge gaps and offer extra data. This information helps countries plan development monitor sustainable development goals and report their progress effectively and transparently. The project is part of a broader effort to support transparent and effective development assistance. It also contributes to establishing a robust international reporting mechanism for tracking diverse financing activities supporting sustainable development. Project activities include: (1) processing and disseminating data research papers and communication materials with almost 100 contributing countries; (2) maintaining the TOSSD database and website; (3) organizing and facilitating key meetings annually working closely with the United Nations (UN) including the UN Statistical Commission and the Economic and Social Council; and (4) allocating resources for human resources logistics and information technology which are essential for maintaining the data repositories organizing meetings and producing communication materials. The project primarily benefits developing countries by aiding them in achieving Sustainable Development Goals focusing on gender equality. It serves donor countries international development organizations and policymakers by providing valuable data for effective coordination and implementation of development assistance indirectly enhancing the public’s well-being in recipient countries.

The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) created and disseminated a comprehensive dataset on sustainable development finance including data from the Departmental Audit Committee members South-South Cooperation (SSC) providers and multilateral institutions; (2) organized at least 2 task force meetings annually to discuss and uphold the TOSSD methodology and standard; (3) conducted international events and maintained the TOSSD website and data visualization tool to enhance the visibility and accessibility of TOSSD data; (4) enhanced TOSSD data quality through regular reviews and proposals in specific areas such as the integration of instruments specific to South-South cooperation; and (5) improved the accuracy and relevance of TOSSD data on gender equality through targeted reviews and proposals.
