Project Description
This project seeks to increase opportunities for women to pursue and advance careers in the nuclear security sector. It aims to support the active participation by women and their ability to make meaningful contributions at the leadership level. Project activities include: (1) providing up to twenty-five 2-year scholarships in nuclear security non-proliferation or nuclear law studies; (2) providing internship opportunities to gain work experience in nuclear security at the International Atomic Energy Agency; and (3) supporting a cohort of 15 women on a professional visit to Canada to enhance their technical and leadership skills. These opportunities aim to help women from Africa Asia Latin America and the Middle East.
Expected Results
The expected outcome of this project includes improved prevention detection and response by women in the nuclear security sector to proliferation and use of nuclear and other radioactive material.
