Support to the organization of American States' mission to support peace in Colombia

This project supports the Organization of American States Mission to Support the Peace Process in Colombia (MAPP) in carrying out its mandate to observe report on and support peacebuilding in Colombia. Project activities include: (1) monitoring reporting on and providing recommendations to authorities on the conflict dynamics in the territories where the MAPP operates. it also looks at the impact of conflict on local communities including ethnic communities women and girls; (2) accompanying state and civil society-led peacebuilding activities related to truth and reparations victim participation (including through a different lens that includes women) land restitution accountability and judicial matters and detainees; (3) facilitating coordination between peacebuilding stakeholders including rural conflict-affected communities and the state and (4) supporting efforts to advance the Colombian administration's Total Peace Policy.

The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) enhanced the understanding by state authorities of the conditions and conflict dynamics in the regions where the MAPP operates; (2) increased access for civil society organizations and victims including women and girls of different ethnicities to truth reconciliation justice and other peacebuilding processes; (3) better informed public peace policies that reflect the voices of local populations including the voices of women and girls of different ethnicities; and (4) strengthened trust between conflict-affected communities civil society and the State.
