Project Description
This project aims to promote accountable and inclusive governance to strengthen peace and reconciliation among diverse communities. It seeks to empower minority ethnic communities and vulnerable groups to demand inclusive public services and build the capacity of national and sub-national government authorities to deliver public services. Project activities include: (1) developing diversity plans in 15 government institutions; (2) developing tools and guidelines for gender equality focal points in the public service; (3) providing grants to civil society organizations to advocate for inclusive public services; and (4) supporting women’s rights organizations in facilitating intercultural and interfaith dialogue.
Expected Results
The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) improved delivery of inclusive equitable and accountable public services that respond to the needs of women girls men boys and non-binary persons from diverse communities. This includes lesbian gay transgender queer and intersex plus (LGBTQI+) persons religious ethnic and language minorities and persons with disabilities; (2) improved leadership and participation of women and women’s rights organizations in addressing conflict fragility and insecurity in alignment with the United Nation’s Women Peace and Security agenda; and (3) increased empowerment of civil society communities and individuals particularly women and girls and LGBTQI+ persons to demand inclusive equitable and accountable public service.
