Project Description
The project aims to support Haiti in its efforts to prevent and combat corruption by strengthening the national capacity to effectively investigate prosecute and adjudicate corruption cases while improving coordination with investigators and government commissioners in other jurisdictions. It also aims to strengthen the capacity of national authorities to detect investigate and prosecute money laundering and underlying offences. The project seeks to acquire equipment and software to combat money laundering and provide training and mentoring for staff of the Economic Crimes Bureau of the Haitian National Police (HNP) and other national authorities.
Expected Results
The expected results of this project include: (1) strengthened the capacity of national actors to effectively investigate prosecute and adjudicate corruption economic crime and money laundering including through international cooperation; (2) improved coordination between actors involved in the investigation prosecution and adjudication of corruption cases; and (3) improved coordination between the Haitian National Police (HNP) investigation unit and international investigators.
