Project Description

This project supports the Private Infrastructure Development Group (PIDG) in mobilizing private investment in sustainable and inclusive infrastructure in sub-Saharan Africa and south and Southeast Asia. Canada’s contribution helps to scale up PIDG’s operations in early-stage infrastructure project development in poorer countries. It also provides targeted technical assistance to support gender lens investments increase opportunities for women in existing infrastructure investments document and share lessons learned on gender and infrastructure.

Expected Results

The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) increased investments in inclusive infrastructure that contribute to climate change mitigation or adaptation; and (2) increased equitable control over resources and economic opportunities from infrastructure investments particularly for women.
