Project Description
The project aims to strengthen the climate resilience of targeted high Andean ecosystems and populations. Project activities include (1) providing technical assistance to targeted communities in the high Andes to enable and strengthen ecosystem-based adaptation measures and climate resilient value chains; (2) establishing a financing facility with public and private investments to provide indigenous men and women with access to finance sustainable livelihoods; and (3) increasing women’s participation in territorial planning and governance processes. The German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) implements this project.
Expected Results
The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) enhanced restoration conservation and management practices of women and men in targeted areas through implementing ecosystem-based adaptation and climate resilient value Chain measures; (2) improved public and private financing services for Ecosystem-based Adaptation measures and climate resilient livelihoods for vulnerable communities especially for women and women's organizations in targeted ecosystems; and (3) local authorities men and women in targeted regions strengthened their participation in climate adaptation planning and decision-making processes.
