Project Description
This project aims to improve the living conditions and food security of 10 000 persons living in the dry corridor of El Salvador. This is done by promoting the participation and empowerment of rural women and youth with a focus on nutrition climate change adaptation and management of water-forest-soil resources. This project seeks to strengthen food security and climate resilience with a nutrition-sensitive approach that considers adaptation to climate change good management and conservation of water-forest-soil resources. It also promotes rural women and youth’s participation and economic empowerment in addressing unequal access to safe and nutritious food for healthy diets. It equally aims to implement mechanisms and drought contingency plans and anticipatory actions based on drought forecasts in selected municipalities of the dry corridor.
Expected Results
The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) strengthened food security and climate resilience by integrating a nutrition-sensitive approach considering adaptation to climate change good management and conservation of water-forest-soil resources; (2) promoted the participation and economic empowerment of rural women and youth and addressed inequality in access to safe and nutritious food for healthy diets; and (3) implemented mechanisms and drought contingency plans and anticipatory actions based on drought forecasts in selected municipalities of the dry corridor of El Salvador.
