Project Description
This project supports the sovereign loan to the Government of Guyana. It aims to strengthen institutional capacity for improving social service delivery focusing on increasing access to women people with disabilities senior citizens and indigenous peoples. Project activities include: (1) building capacity for project planning monitoring and evaluation and administration of human resources; (2) improving capacity for the operation and maintenance of information portals; (3) providing vulnerable groups with skills training labour market information and related services to build their capacity for employment and self-employment; and (4) strengthening electronic payment systems to access old age pensions easily.
Expected Results
The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) improved capacity of the Government of Guyana to deliver efficient and effective social services; (2) increased access to business services for women entrepreneurs; (3) increased access to skills training and employment opportunities for people with disabilities; and (4) developed policy tools and institutional mechanisms that prevent gender-based violence human trafficking and other practices that are harmful to women and other vulnerable groups.
