Project Description
The project aims to strengthen the resilience of lesbian gay bisexual transgender queer and intersex (LGBTQI+) rights movements in North Africa specifically in Morocco Algeria and Tunisia. Project activities include: (1) supporting local organizations in setting up 10 initiatives to promote the rights and well-being of LGBTQI+ people; (2) documenting and strengthening the safety mental health and well-being of LGBTQI+ activists; and (3) enabling regional consultation and activist participation in international conferences and consultation forums.
Expected Results
The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) improved availability and accessibility of financial and technical resources adapted to the needs and priorities of LGBTQI+ activists in North Africa; (2) design and improvement of tools aimed at the well-being and safety of LGBTQI+ activists in North Africa; and (3) strengthening of the activist network with the aim of promoting cross-learning and the convergence of advocacy actions.
