Project Description
This project aims to produce rigorous accessible relevant and improved evidence to inform policy and practice related to education for refugees other forcibly displaced and host community children and youth through the Inter-Agency Network on Education in Emergencies (INEE). Project activities include: (1) convening a technical roundtable bringing together experts to define gaps prioritize focus areas and developing an action plan to strengthen the education in emergencies (EiE) data and evidence ecosystem; (2) developing and disseminating technical guidance tools defining rigorous EiE evidence; and (3) producing new evidence and evidence-related tools such as reports. INEE is an open global network of more than 18 500 individual members. INEE members include Non-Governmental Organizations and United Nations personnel ministry of education and other government staff local and regional Civil Society Organizations representatives students teachers youth donors and researchers working in education in emergencies. 3 000 INEE members expect to engage directly with this initiative with about 6 000 000 potential indirect beneficiaries including individuals affected by crisis refugee other forcibly displaced and host community children and youth.
Expected Results
The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) improved international assistance for education programming in crisis conflict and displacement contexts; and (2) increased policies advocacy and engagement addressing inclusion and quality education for and with refugee other forcibly displaced and host community children and youth in regions where Canada engages.
