Expected Results

The expected outcomes for this project include: (1) increased equitable participation of Palestinian women and girls including women with disabilities in TVET; (2) enhanced labour force participation of women TVET trainees and graduates; and (3) improved gender responsiveness and inclusion within the Palestinian TVET system.

Progress & Results Achieved

Results achieved as of November 2021 include: (1) 2 106 trainees (of whom 1 981 are women and 125 are men) increased their knowledge in TVET and learned about reducing barriers for women in TVET through awareness-raising activities. Also the program reached 17 187 people (of whom 7 963 are women and 9 224 men) through promotional materials; (2) introduced 96 women to existing vocations through participation at three vocational camps; (3) supported seven TVET institutes to make their systems practices and policies more gender-responsive and inclusive through participatory gender and inclusion audits; (4) 101 staff (of whom 64 are women and 37 men) at TVET institutions received training on concepts including gender equality/equity gender roles and non-traditional vocations. This resulted in 66 women including eight WWD benefiting from improved access to TVET; and (5) created 100 new training spaces benefitting 66 women (of whom two are WWD) at TVET institutes.
