Project Description
This project aims to improve gender-responsive climate smart agriculture and food systems in the Caribbean. It recognizes the disproportionate impact of food price inflation supply chain disruptions and climate change on the region. This project supports women and vulnerable groups in achieving food security and enhancing resilience to climate change. Project activities include: (1) designing and sharing knowledge products to facilitate the adoption of gender-responsive climate smart technologies innovations and practices; (2) enhancing production facilities to improve operations climate resilience quality and reduce harvest loss and waste; and (3) developing and implementing gender-responsive decision-support tools for multi-hazard risk management.
Expected Results
The expected outcomes for this project include: (1) improved inclusive and gender-responsive governance for climate-resilient agriculture value chains in the Caribbean; (2) increased adoption of gender-responsive climate smart technologies innovations and practices (production processing and marketing) by agriculture value chain actors in the Caribbean; and (3) enhanced data-driven gender-responsive decision-making in climate smart agriculture and food systems by value chain actors in the Caribbean.
