Project Description
The overall objective of the "Making all spaces safe" project is to increase the benefits of technology free from gender-based violence for women and girls in all their diversity to reach their full potential and live without discrimination. The project aims to intervene globally and at the country-level (Benin and Kenya). It seeks widespread benefits in violence prevention and response while innovating testing and building the evidence-base for future initiatives. It also seeks to strengthen the global network of stakeholders working to address technology-facilitated gender-based violence. Its beneficiaries are civil society organizations including women-led and digital rights organizations local governments services providers and United Nations Population Fund's implementing partners intervening in gender-based violence programmes. It also benefits youth and adolescent girls and boys.
Expected Results
The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) improved access to intervention services (healthcare psychosocial services security justice) for survivors of technology-facilitated gender-based violence; (2) improved standards of key groups reflecting safe gender-sensitive and ethical design and use of technology to prevent and mitigate the risk of technology-facilitated gender-based violence; and (3) improved legal and policy environment to ensure digital safety for women and girls.
