Canada's contribution to the Sahel Alliance

This project aims to improve the quality of life for women men girls and boys in the Sahel region by strengthening the capacities of the Alliance Sahel’s coordination unit. Canada’s support aims to optimize coordination among the donors and development actors who are members of the Alliance Sahel. The project activities include: (1) organizing the governance bodies of the Alliance Sahel; (2) maintaining and developing relationships between full members and observer members; (3) producing relevant reports and data to monitor and evaluate the activities of members; (4) supporting the coordination of actions and the development of strategic partnerships on the ground; and (5) creating and disseminating content for the public to highlight the impact of projects and key themes of the Alliance Sahel.

The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) improved structural and operational functioning of the Alliance Sahel; and (2) greater efficiency of development contributions from members of the Alliance Sahel.
