Women’s Inclusion for National Growth Strategy

This project aims to empower girls and women from Rwanda and Uganda by strengthening their level of education and by improving opportunities for gainful employment. Project activities include: (1) providing scholarships for girls which include access to transportation and safe housing as well as financial support for food and personal supplies; (2) providing training on household finances nutrition sanitation and sexual and reproductive health; and (3) providing mentoring programs and training on business development and on seeking employment. This initiative will empower 80 girls in Uganda and 90 girls in Rwanda to pursue their post-secondary education to ensure economic equality for themselves and future generations. This project is implemented by Beautiful World Canada Foundation through the cooperation of local organizations Nyaka in Uganda and the Forum for African Women Educationalists Rwanda (FAWE Rwanda).

The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) improved access for marginalized girls and women to safe quality and gender-responsive education programs; (2) improved decision-making capacity for marginalized girls and women; and (3) increased participation of female students in public leadership and decision-making processes.
