Project Description
This project aims to strengthen the effectiveness of law enforcement agencies to prevent detect investigate and respond to chemical and explosives terrorism incidents. Project activities include: (1) outreach with relevant national decision makers and senior-level representatives of beneficiary countries; (2) delivery of training to facilitate intelligence sharing on national and regional chemical and explosive threats; (3) verification activities for counterterrorism intelligence; (4) development of tailored country-specific action plans; (5) delivery of training and capacity-building sessions; and (6) delivery of the “Global Congress on Chemical Security and Emerging Threats”.
Expected Results
The expected outcomes for this project include: (1) increased knowledge and understanding by INTERPOL of national and regional threats and vulnerabilities related to chemicals and explosives in beneficiary member states; (2) increased knowledge and understanding by INTERPOL of national and regional threats and vulnerabilities related to chemicals and explosives in beneficiary member states; and (3) enhanced access of INTERPOL member states to resources peer-to-peer expertise-sharing best practices and lessons learned from a global multi-stakeholder network dedicated to improve chemical security.
