Project Description
The project aims to increase respect for human rights in Bolivia—particularly for women indigenous and rural people and human rights defenders. It supports the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights in monitoring and reporting on violations. Project activities include: (1) providing technical and strategic advice to government authorities to promote human rights and meet its obligations in line with international standards; and (2) providing technical and strategic advice to human rights defenders and civil society to document human rights violations and hold government to account to respect its human rights obligations.
Expected Results
The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) improved protection of human rights by public institutions in Bolivia—particularly for women indigenous and rural populations and rights defenders; and (2) enhanced participation of civil society human rights defenders and communities particularly women and indigenous people to safely advocate for and hold government to account for the protection of human rights.
