Project Description

This project implemented by the Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces aims to increase human security and gender equality among the migrant refugee and host communities in Lebanon. Project activities include: (1) establishing a mediation unit and providing mediation training within Lebanon's General Security (GS) force; (2) implementing a gender training program at the GS academy; (3) implementing small community-based projects in refugee-hosting communities; and (4) facilitating public policy debates and gender security and migration.

Expected Results

The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) increased knowledge and skills of GS officers in good policy and practice for gender-sensitive mediation and communication; and (2) increased awareness of good practice in migration gender and security policy among universities and the public.
