Project Description
This project seeks to reduce the threat to Southeast Asian populations of a nuclear or radiological security event. The project aims to achieve this by ensuring the sustainability of nuclear security training in Thailand. It also expects to expand the training offered by Thailand’s Nuclear Security Support Centre to build nuclear security competencies within Southeast Asia. Project activities include: (1) developing a competency framework and training approach for all security activities in Thailand; (2) conducting a national training in information and cybersecurity and a train-the-trainer programme on secure transport of radioactive material information and cyber security in Thailand; and (3) organizing a training course on secure transportation of radioactive material workshops on managing competency and training and information and cybersecurity hosted by Thailand for a regional audience.
Expected Results
The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) enhanced competency frameworks as the basis for training and investment in training; (2) enhanced nuclear security culture within organizations; and (3) improved performance by women and men experts in mitigating the risk of a nuclear security incident including those related to transport security and cyber security.
