Project Description

This project supports the enhanced empowerment of 6 000 young people including 3 600 young women in Guyana’s most remote and hardest-to-reach regions. It provides them with opportunities to be more engaged and involved in their communities to improve and diversify their economic livelihood options and to participate more actively and meaningfully in decision-making.

Expected Results

The expected outcomes for this project include: (1) increased equitable engagement of indigenous and rural youth especially young women in personal household and community decision-making; and (2) strengthened the effectiveness of local regional and national authorities and other key actors in the delivery of sustainable programs that respond to the needs and aspirations of indigenous and rural youth.
