Project Description
This project aims to ensure that all women and girls have access to their choice of reproductive health commodities such as contraceptives and maternal health medicines. This project is implemented by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Supplies program. Project activities include: (1) procuring and distributing a range of quality-assured reproductive health commodities; (2) building capacity to enhance the delivery of sexual and reproductive health services; and (3) advocating to ensure reproductive health and family planning is explicitly funded at the country level notably within the context of primary health care and universal health coverage. The project primarily benefits women and girls of reproductive age particularly those who are underserved and vulnerable in rural and lower-income areas.
Expected Results
The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) increased availability of a variety of quality-assured reproductive health commodities; (2) strengthened supply chains for reproductive health commodities; and (3) increased prioritization and financial contributions towards reproductive health and family planning at the country-level.
