Tajikistan Green Border Security Initiative (Afghanistan Border)

This project seeks to increase the capacity of Tajikistan to detect and deter the smuggling of nuclear or radiological materials. Project activities include: (1) providing radiation detection equipment; (2) integrating surveillance systems at bridge border crossings and along the frontier border; and (3) providing related operational equipment and maintenance training.

The expected outcome of this project is the improved monitoring and investigation by Tajikistan of pedestrian and vehicular traffic for illicit trafficking of nuclear or radiological materials and suspicious packages.
